Son's Scrapbook Frame

Remember the scrapbook frame I made for my daughter for her birthday, well I had to make one for my son! It took a little while to figure out colors I wanted for his, but as soon as I found the little mini banner that says, "A Great Day," and the other embellishments that came with it, I knew how I wanted my son's frame to look. He always says, everyday, "It's a Really Great Day, Mom!" His current bedding is blues, his baby quilt has pastel blues, greens, and yellows so I figured these would go well.
It was super hard with him being 3 1/2 to pick which pictures I wanted to go into the frame. I picked the ones that are our favorites as well as show his personality best.

Flower Ribbon Topiary

I made my first Ribbon Topiary - again for my daughter's first birthday. I was kinda nervous about it thinking it wouldn't be fun to make, but it ended up being very fun to make. I wish I had more time to make more of them.

Tutorial and example from here and pinned here.

Here's mine:

I didn't use a square block to hold the dowel on the bottom like the original did. I just stuck it in my container (from the $1 store) and surrounded it with candy and some glass flowers. It stayed pretty well in place. If you think children will play with it, then you might want to have the foam block for stronger support.

After I was finished, I also added some clear flower stickers on top of some pieces of my ribbon so it kinda looked like a flower tree. =) I wanted to add some butterfly stickers, but I couldn't find any the right size that I liked for it.

For me, I just looked through all my ribbon, found the colors I needed, cut them up into equal pieces and stuck them on. Some people have said to not use a lot of different kinds of ribbon, but I did and loved mine. Some pieces I didn't even loop, I just left straight for a different look.

This is a great project to use scrap ribbon on and spice up a room not just decoration for a birthday =) Think holiday themed ones.

Favor Boxes

I made these favor boxes using my Silhouette Cameo for my daughter's birthday. I filled mine with fruit snacks, suckers, and little toy favors: spin tops and butterfly rings.

They have all sorts of these favor boxes to download and cut out with your Silhouette - graduation, dad, mom, birthday: dinosaur, butterfly, thank you and more!
Check them out! Super simple and super cute favor boxes for a birthday or just a thank you! They'd even be great for a wedding!

Mother's Day Layouts

I made this Mother's Day layout for the 2nd Saturday class I teach. Since I already had a mother layout with my mom, I made one for my MIL.

I entitled it Mother of 1 to Mother of 6 and just had a picture showing each new son they added to the family over the years.
I used my Silhouette to cut the layout and then I used the negative pieces for the other side.
The title parts "of 1" and "of 6" are hard to see in the picture, but I did them with a spring green vinyl.

Lucky to be your Mom
I made this layout for myself. I used a flower basket download from Silhouette. I made sure to do this download onto a striped/multi-patterned paper so you could see the different pieces well.
Again I did my title in the spring green vinyl.
